Biocant Park is a Science and Technology Park focused on promoting entrepreneurship in Biotechnology and supporting the creation of business initiatives based on the economic valorization of scientific knowledge. In order to maintain a differentiating and innovative environment, the park invested in infrastructures adjusted to development of I&D&I projects in Life Sciences, specialized services and highly qualified human resources.
Biocant Park aims to become an international reference for the promotion of bioentrepreneurship, promoting the creation and sustainable development of business initiatives in Biotechnology.
Biocant Park's mission is to allow the consolidation of excellent I&D companies and institutions dedicated exclusively to biotechnology, acting as a strategic agent and promotor of ecosystem development of our Region.
In carrying out its mission, Biocant Park takes into account the following values:
Currently, the park have 4 buildings with laboratories and offices for companies and a fifth building that houses a research center. State-of-art technological services and resources allocated here are also an asset for companies, namely Biopilot Fermentation Unit, Cell Culture Room under GMP Conditions, Vivarium, Specialized Analytical Services, Genome Sequencing Unit, Analysis and Protein production and mass spectrometry.

In addition to its own laboratories, there is a research center in the park working closely with the park's Biotechnology companies.
UC-Biotech is the research and business training infrastructure of the Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology and the University of Coimbra for the Biotechnology sector, which is based in Biocant Park.
